FCC ID Definition

FFC ID is meaning Federal Communications Commission IDentification.

You can find the FCC ID on nearly every piece of the computer. FCC ID numbers can be used to find information about a device manufacturer or other helpful information if no other numbers are found to infer device information.

It is essential to realize that the FCC ID and FCC REG are two different numbers as follows:

  • First: FCC databases can only be searched using the FCC ID, not the FCC REG.
  • Second: many products may only contain the “Tested for Compliance with FCC Standards” label, indicating that the product complies with FCC regulations.

The FCC ID listed on the computers should be similar to one of the formats below.

The FCC ID consists of two different elements: the recipient code and the equipment product code, and the FCC ID is assigned to all devices subject to certification.

  • The beneficiary code, the first part of the FCC id, is either a string of three or five alphanumeric characters that denote the recipient.
  • The product code is the second and central part of the FCC ID that starts after the patron code and includes hyphens, and the patron assigns the product code.

The FCC ID number listed on the computers should resemble various formats such as FCCID: AAOxxxxxxxxx, FCC ID: DZL211029, FCC ID: B4Z-34009-PIR, and FCC ID: LKD1.
