Do CAGE codes expire?

Yes. Effective 26 August 2016, a CAGE Expiration Date is now assigned to every U.S. CAGE code that is assigned or updated, based upon the date of the last update received by the CAGE Program. The CAGE codes are given an expiration date of five years from the last update.

The expiration date is only displayed in CAGE Search & Inquiry (CSI) and will not be sent to any downstream system. Updating your CAGE code information before the expiration date will keep it from expiring.

CAGE codes last updated prior to 26 August 2016 will not be assigned an expiration date at this time.

Note: Expirations DO NOT currently apply to NCAGE codes.
